This is my final preliminary contents page:
I had to against some of the rules because of different reasons. One reason would have to be that it doesn't fit in with the magazine as there wasn't as much room because the main image would take up the room so I couldn't put as many cover lines around otherwise they would be on top of the main image and not many magazines do have them on top as you cant see the images aswell. I have used three images on the front cover which is against the codes and convection's as it makes the front cover look too full and cramped together. I kept it though because it will make the magazine more entertaining to read and more attractive to the target audience. Some magazines do have more than one image on their front cover
I recorded 2 people and asked them whether they liked the writing on top of the images or not and these are the results: Out of the results they both thought that writing not on top of the images are easier to read and clearer to see. Which is what ive done on mine.

I have kept some of the codes and convection's like the Title of the magazine being big and at the top of their magazine. Some magazines have their magazine on top of the magazines name but this means it’s harder to know what it’s called when they want to buy the next issue.
The cover lines are quite big and very clear. They show the audience what’s inside the magazine so they're more likely to buy it. Some magazines don't follow the rules and do over take the image. So some follow and some challenge the codes and convection's.
I had to keep changing the design of the magazine so that it fitted in with the other pop magazines. At the end I ended up with a total different design than my drawn one at the beginning because little details got changed in my magazine. The changes were things that the real magazines wouldn’t have because they didn’t fit in with the genre POP, they didn’t appeal to the target audience or they didn’t go with the magazine very well.

I have also learnt more on Photoshop. I have used it before but needed to know abit more as everything had to be done from scratch. I created my front cover using Photoshop.

7. Looking back at your preliminary task what do you feel you have learnt in the progress from it to the main product?
